One summer, I simply fell in love with them. I left the store wearing them. When I reached the hotel, I packed my sneakers and wore these sandals everywhere with love. For the rest of the days, I felt like I had my head in the clouds but my feet on the ground. They’re nude, with a thin strap for the big toe, another extending toward the ankle, and a third that fits my ankle so comfortably I don’t even feel them. The next summer, I found them neatly placed in the red box on the hallway shelf, above the others. I wear them with ripped jeans and a white shirt, a long turquoise striped dress, a green midi skirt, a white sleeveless top, boyfriend jeans rolled up above the ankle, and a yellow t-shirt with a bare back.

The next winter, I started thinking about how I could buy a new pair, in a different color, a different model. And that’s how I ended up creating new designs and combining beautiful colors, which are then handcrafted from natural leather on a beautiful Greek island.

As a result, the next summer, FUNKYFAIN is launched – a unique online store for cool sandals, created by Bogdan, the “cool” side of this project who handles IT and finances, and Ioana, the “funky” side responsible for design and marketing.

The First Days: Chaos, coffee, coffee, coffee, and many crazy ideas. It was a rollercoaster of ideas (many impossible, but that didn’t stop us from noting them all down), brainstorming until late into the night, and, of course, liters of coffee. We wanted to create a place where you could find things that express your personality, make your day cooler, and make you say, “YES, this is for me!”

That’s how FUNKYFAIN was born: a shop created with enthusiasm, inspiration, and the desire to make everyday clothes stand out. We didn’t aim to be a cheap store, nor an expensive one, but not just another typical shop. We wanted to be a store where you walk in and immediately feel a good vibe.
